The robotics and AI program will introduce the children to the Robotics and artificial intelligence world using programmable robots such as Recon Rover, Sphero, and Edison. Children will work in teams and use basic programming commands to control these robots. They will learn to control using printed barcodes and block coding. It does not use computer programming. It gives children the necessary information to know how to start in this world and have fun with it. Nutty Scientists® is the leading provider of interactive programs for children of all ages related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning. Since 1996 we have developed appropriate activities for children that promote their interest in science and its impact on the world today. Community Ed Youth GIRLS Basketball League: Grade 8
Whether you’re just playing for fun or ready to level up, we’ve got a spot for you! Divisions include Rec (for building skills and fundamentals), Rec Plus (intermediate play), and new in 2025—the Competitive Division for high-level teams. Sign up individually or form a team with friends. Practices start the week of November 3; games begin December 6. Volunteer coaches needed! (no games 12/20 or 12/27) HOW TO REGISTER: I HAVE A COACH: Go to your team coach and click enroll now. You will get a unique passcode from your coach to register. I HAVE A COACH BUT DO NOT SEE THEIR NAME: Enroll in NEW TEAM, and when your coach registers, you will be moved to their team. I DO NOT HAVE A COACH: Enroll for the NEW TEAM. This will put you on a waiting list and we will be able to form teams. Teams set up online are by coach recommendation only. If your coach has contacted you about our Basketball League, and he/she is having a team, please sign up on their individual team. If not, proceed to sign up for the NEW TEAM and enroll - we will move your enrollment to your coach when they register. Holiday Sweets & Treats
Sprinkle some joy into your kitchen this holiday season! This isn't your traditional baking class—it's a joyful, collaborative experience where you'll team up to create a unique holiday treat to share with fellow participants, with samples to take home! Class structure: Participants will work in pairs or small groups, each assigned a holiday-themed recipe and ingredients to create their treat. Afterward, everyone will gather to swap and enjoy their creations, sharing the recipe and tips to replicate them at home. This class is taught by a CE instructor. Santa's Workshop: Handmade for the Holidays!
Step into the magic of the season when you become a part of Santa's Workshop! Little elves (a.k.a. kids) are invited to spread the joy as they create holiday-inspired gifts straight from the heart. From handmade ornaments to cozy cards and keepsakes, kids will create special holiday treasures to gift to loved ones. All materials are provided; just bring the holiday cheer and imagination! Science with Santa
Join us for our popular 4th Annual Science with Santa event! Celebrate the season with hands-on learning and holiday cheer. Families can travel between self-led science experiment stations, enjoy a snack, and spend some special time with Santa himself! Each station includes easy-to-follow instructions and all the materials you need, so you can go at your own pace. Make and take home your own slime, explore light refraction, take on LEGO building challenges, and much more. We’re bringing back fan-favorite experiments from past years and adding exciting new ones for even more scientific fun. More than just a photo op, this event offers a unique opportunity for one-on-one time with Santa while engaging in interactive, educational activities the whole family will love. Adults attend free.
