Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) Spring Late AM (Starting April 7, 6 Weeks) CrestviewInfant Swimming ResourceGoing beyond traditional swim instruction, ISR teaches children how to survive in the water. Offered in partnership with Gateway ISR, Certified ISR Instructor, Stacy Wistuba. For more than 40 years, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) has been teaching children critical Self-Rescue® skills -- giving children the competence and confidence to safely enjoy the water. ISR’s technique teaches babies from 6 months to children 6 years of age how to save themselves if they were to end up in the water alone. Your child’s safety is our first priority. Each lesson is uniquely tailored to your child’s needs based on comprehensive assessment and continual monitoring of your child’s health and skill attainment. Every child learns at his or her own pace, your child will be gently guided through each Self Rescue® Skill. A child 6-12 months learns: To hold their breath underwater To roll onto their back To float unassisted, rest and breathe until help arrives To perform these self-rescue skills first in a swim diaper and then fully clothed A child 1-6 years learns: To hold their breath underwater Swim with their head down Roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe Flip over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool, crawl out, be rescued by an adult or return to floating To perform these self-rescue skills first in a swim diaper/bathing suit and then fully clothed Lessons are scheduled every day (Monday-Friday) for 10 minutes each day. Sessions are dependent on the individual child and their progression through the skills. Many children master these skills in 6 weeks. Additional weeks/classes can be scheduled should your child need more time. For more information and to view videos of what your child will learn with ISR, visit www.GatewayISR.com. Interested participants MUST contact Certified ISR Instructor, Stacy Wistuba at info@gatewayisr.com to schedule lessons before registering at www.prcommunityed.org. A full 6-week session is billed upfront at $750. Should your child need more time, additional weeks can be billed at $125/week or individual classes at $25/lesson. Pre-competitive Swim Team - Rockwood Summit High School (Spring)Pre-Competitive Swim ProgramsThis program is for the Swim School level 6 swimmer who wants to go to the next level beyond the instructional focus of the group classes. Compared to Swim School group lessons, the pre-competitive classes are longer, more endurance-based, and meet twice a week. Coaching is conducted from the deck and will be very similar to a competitive swim club practice. This group is also perfect for anyone who enjoyed summer league swimming, and wants to continue swimming during the school year but is not able to commit to or qualify for a year-round competitive swim team. Pre-competitive classes will strive to refine stroke technique so if your child is still having trouble learning the butterfly and/or breaststroke you might want to consider taking a Swim School group lesson class. Qualifications: 50 yards freestyle, 25 yards backstroke and have an idea of how to swim breaststroke and butterfly; or be in station 6 in Swim School.2024-25 Winter/Spring Catalog
