DIY Hair Salon

2025-26 Winter/Spring Catalog

Students will create their own cardboard characters and bring them to life with colorful yarn hair! Using cardboard cutouts as a base, kids will design faces, add yarn strands, and then style, braid, and decorate their creations just like in a real salon. This hands-on project encourages imagination and builds fine motor skills as students experiment with silly hairstyles and bold colors. Everyone will leave with a one-of-a-kind art piece and maybe some new hairstyling tricks too. This course is designed as a drop off program. Instructor: Erica Harvey

ERICA HARVEY

I hold a BA in Fashion Design and an MFA in Industrial Design, blending creativity with practical design skills. I’ve been a maker and artist since the age of five, always exploring new ways to bring ideas to life. Over the years, I’ve worked across many mediums, from textiles to product design, and continue to expand my creative practice. My passion is helping others discover the joy of making and building confidence through hands-on projects. I believe art should be playful, accessible, and a lifelong adventure.
