Family Time: Winter Sweatshirt Embroidery

*Family Programs / Family Winter/Spring Programs / Family Art & Enrichment -
2025-26 Winter/Spring Catalog

In this creative workshop, students will learn a simple embroidery technique to turn an ordinary sweatshirt into a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork. Using colorful yarn and thread, they will create patterns and textures that are easy to learn but make a big impact. Each student will design and decorate their own sweatshirt, adding personal flair and style. No experience is needed; just bring your imagination and get ready to stitch something amazing! Please bring a sweatshirt of your choice to embroider. This is a great way to update and refresh an old sweatshirt from your closet. Instructor: Erica Harvey

ERICA HARVEY

I hold a BA in Fashion Design and an MFA in Industrial Design, blending creativity with practical design skills. I’ve been a maker and artist since the age of five, always exploring new ways to bring ideas to life. Over the years, I’ve worked across many mediums, from textiles to product design, and continue to expand my creative practice. My passion is helping others discover the joy of making and building confidence through hands-on projects. I believe art should be playful, accessible, and a lifelong adventure.
