Financial Workshops

Please join us for these financial workshops so you will be ready! Each session will focus on a different investment, and give an in-depth education on the subject. You can choose a particular session to attend, or you can attend the entire series. This is an amazing opportunity you won't want to miss! All classes are presented by Cindy Whitman, Financial Advisor.

March 16 or 23	Healthcare in Retirement	The greatest risk to your life savings in retirement is your health. This workshop will discuss planning for expected and unexpected health issues. We will learn about Medicare options, supplements, and long term care options. Best suited for men and women over age 55.
April 6	Estate Planning Basics	Everyone needs an estate plan, regardless of their age or the size of their estate. Come learn about wills, trusts, POAs, beneficiaries, TODs, medical directives, and more. For men and women of all ages and life stages.
April 20	Investing Risks: Determining Risk	All types of investments have some level of risk. All investors need to learn their particular tolerance for risk as well as their need for risk to reach their financial goals. Join us as we learn about all types of risk, how to determine your risk tolerance and needs, and how risk plays a role in your financial planning. For men and women of all ages and life stages.
April 27	Women and Retirement: How is it Different?	Retirement brings different challenges for women for several reasons. This workshop will discuss these reasons, how to be aware, how to plan differently, and more. Best suited for women over age 50.
May 4	Social Security: Understanding Your Options	Choosing the best option for social security can be very confusing, especially considering you only have one chance to make this decision. We will learn the different choices for turning on your social security benefits and how to determine which choice makes the most sense for you. Topics will also include working during retirement and widow/widower benefits. Best suited for men and women age 60 and older who aren't already taking social security.
May 11	Basics of Investing for Women	Join us as we learn the basics of investing, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, risk tolerance, investment pyramid, and more. This class is geared towards the learning style of women, and taught from a female perspective. This class is also an introduction to the upcoming summer "financial workshops for women" series. For women of all ages and life stages.

Gold Card members (district residents ages 60 and older) receive a 50% discount for this class. The discounted rate will automatically be applied at checkout. You must have a Gold Card issued in your name to receive the discounted rate. If you do not have a Gold Card and would like to request one, complete an online request form. Silver Card members (residents outside of the Parkway and Rockwood districts ages 60 and older) receive a 15% discount for this class. The discounted rate will automatically be applied at checkout. You must have a Silver Card membership to receive the discounted rate (you will not receive a physical card). If you are not registered for a Silver Card and would like to register, complete this online request form. Note: the Silver card does not provide free/reduced admission to Parkway or Rockwood High School sponsored events.
