Barretts Elementary E-Hour Session 4: Nutty Scientists: Robotics and AI
The robotics and AI program will introduce the children to the Robotics and artificial intelligence world using programmable robots such as Recon Rover, Sphero, and Edison. Children will work in teams and use basic programming commands to control these robots. They will learn to control using printed barcodes and block coding. It does not use computer programming. It gives children the necessary information to know how to start in this world and have fun with it. DIY Hair Salon
Students will create their own cardboard characters and bring them to life with colorful yarn hair! Using cardboard cutouts as a base, kids will design faces, add yarn strands, and then style, braid, and decorate their creations just like in a real salon. This hands-on project encourages imagination and builds fine motor skills as students experiment with silly hairstyles and bold colors. Everyone will leave with a one-of-a-kind art piece and maybe some new hairstyling tricks too. This course is designed as a drop off program. Embedded Heart Shirt Design
In this workshop, students will design a sparkling heart motif using sequins, embroidery, and tulle to create a beautiful layered effect. The tulle holds the sequins in place while we stitch, making it easy to combine shine and texture into a bold design.
