Join us for our annual Science with Santa event! Celebrate the season with hands-on learning and holiday cheer. Families can travel between self-led science experiment stations, enjoy a snack, and spend special time with Santa himself! Each station includes easy-to-follow instructions and all the materials you need so you can go at your own pace. Make and take home your own slime, explore light refraction, take on LEGO building challenges, and much more. We’re bringing back fan-favorite experiments from past years and adding exciting new ones for even more scientific fun. More than just a photo op, this event offers a unique opportunity for one-on-one time with Santa while engaging in interactive, educational activities the whole family will love. Adults attend free. Sensory Friendly Adult Open Swim sessions are designed for adults (18+) with social, emotional, cognitive, or physical impairments who may not benefit from a traditional pool setting. Program Format: The pool will be open for participants to swim in the shallow or deep end for sensory stimulation, physical activity, and gross motor skill development in a quiet, open environment (six participants maximum per session). A lifeguard will be present; however, participants will not receive direct instruction or in-water support from staff. Parents or guardians must accompany the adaptive adult swimmer in the pool if 1:1 support is needed. The Smoky Mountains Adventure trips are open to Rockwood students entering fifth grade in the fall of 2026. Travel to the Great Smoky Mountains for an adventure-packed four days exploring the wilderness, searching for wildlife, learning about the environment and developing leadership skills. Stay at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, an environmental education center located within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
